Hi Radu,
Many thanks. I have just replaced the files that I saw you changed and for now everything looks fine. I hope I did not miss anything :).
I will mark the ticket as resolved.
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
The problem was still there, you have succeeded to register just because the checkbox fields were not anymore mandatory – I changed this to test what Laura suggested initially. In this case, if selected something in those fields no value was actually saved.
Anyway, few minutes ago I got a notification that there is a new BuddyPress update version and looking into the list of bugs they have solved I found the following:
#7845 closed defect (bug) (fixed)
User registration fails if multi-option multi-select or checkbox involvedIt was exactly the issue I had. I have upgraded BuddyPress and registration is working fine again.
Anyway, thanks for your support.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Thanks for your support. The requirement is that if a user choose to share certain information only with his/her friends for example, that information will remain hidden in all other cases in all places where the information is displayed. This would be in line with GDPR requirements.
In my opinion, for Age there is something missing as for fields like “I am” or “City” functionality works fine.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
I have saved the file you added on pastebin as app.js and upload the file over ftp. Development was ON. However, I have exactly same error when I tried to recover my password. What I am not sure is if the initial file that you mentioned to replace the content of wp-content/themes/sweetdate/page-parts/general-forgot-modal.php should also be uploaded.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Sorry for the late answer but I was off a few days. The problem is not with the field being visible in the profile of the user, there all is fine. The problem is with the field (and here I’m talking only about Age field, City and I am seems to be hidden correctly) being shown in user card in the members’ directory view. Did you checked my initial added screenshots (look at Profile_card.jpg above)?
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Laura,
I have tried this and indeed I can save now the registration form but:
1. The values I choose in the optional fields are not saved.
2. I need at least one of this field to be mandatory. So, I think the problem is not solved as if a user is selecting some values even if they are not mandatory they need to be saved. More, please note that this was working before. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you exactly when this changed, but I suspect it was after the upgrade on the theme to be compatible with the new BuddyPress plugin.
Thanks for checking further on this.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
This morning the new plugin got somehow activated and the captcha appeared on the login form, however, I was not able to login with any of the users I had. Even the admin got blocked. The massage I got was that username or password is wrong, I had to go on FTP and rename the folder of the google recaptcha to be able to access my site. Once I did that I was able to login again with same users/passwords. So definitively, this plugin is not working fine as well with the theme.
Kindly advise. Captcha is a nice feature, I will like to keep it on my site as it reduces the risks of spams quite a lot.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Laura,
user has setup to show the age only to friends however on the members page it is shown to everybody. In the example from my pictures, “I am” and “City” (Oras) is set to be shared only with friends and is hidden on the members page (which is the expected behaviour) while age who has the same setting is visible. Hope now things are more clear.
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
I have tested with the new file but it did not work. More or less same issue. Also the proposed plugin did not work as expected. I cannot see any recaptcha being added on my register page. The keys are correct. or should I added the shortcode [bws_google_captcha] on some pages? Please advise.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
I am using WP-reCAPTCHA-bp. I think it was recommended on the theme site. Did you tested with different plugin?
Thanks
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
I have updated the theme and now everything looks normal. Thanks for the fast issue resolution.
Cheers.
lusienParticipantHi Kieran,
Many thanks for your help. I have access to the file and I have added into it the mentioned code. However, after I saved it and reloaded the home page I got the attached error. Trying to access different pages worked. I have clean the cookies as suggested but still same issue. Please note that WP Admin > Settings > General was set to https://cristea.ch from the very beginning and redirection from cristea.ch to https://cristea.ch works properly.
Regards.

I have contacted the hosting partner as recommended, but they responded that actually they are not developers and not able to resolve. Is there any instruction on how to do this that you can recommend so that I share with them? Maybe it is not so difficult and they can do it without having advanced knowledge. But they will need some guidance with it.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantPerfect. Exactly what I wanted. Sorry for not being clear from the very beginning.
I’ll mark the ticket as resolved.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
The profile translation works. But the translation of the error text from the log in window is not appearing in the translation files of the theme – see attached the only sentences that I can see starting with ERROR. Or I am looking wrong?
Thanks for your help.

I have checked the proposed code and it works but it hides not only the header but the log in/signed out buttons and logo as well. I actually wanted to have the same behaviour with transparent header as on desktop side but probably this is not possible or easy to be achieved.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Kieran,
Many thanks for the explanation. I will contact the hosting partner to check on your solution. Our site was always https but it could be that there are some settings on server level that need to be enabled to assure that all non https:// traffic will be routed to our https:// site.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Indeed the code seems to work to hide menu. But header is still visible on home page for tablet and mobile. Any solution here? Maybe because we have picture in the header?
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Your code hides the menu everywhere on Mobile/Tablet. In addition, does not make header invisible. It remains invisible/transparent only on desktop. Or, is there any page template I can use to achieve this?
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Right, I want to have the header as well as menu hidden from Mobile/Tablet.
Thanks.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
What I see on desktop is different (see attached). And I checked from different browsers and computers. Are you looking with Elementor or normaly from the browser directly?
Thanks,

Thanks, I got the point and it works.
I will mark the ticket as closed.

lusienParticipantHi Laura,
Thanks, moving the code to theme options quick css solved the issue. I will mark the ticket as resolved.
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Laura,
Many thanks for your response. I will check the mentioned plugins to see what options they provide to increase security.
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Many thanks for your help. In principle I understand what you mean but doing it I have to admit it is not simple. How can I integrate the html in following code line (at list this is where I think you suggested)?
echo do_shortcode( ‘[su_spoiler title=”OPEN Advanced Search Tab” style=”fancy” icon=”caret”][bps_display form=1053][/su_spoiler]’ );
Regards
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Perfect, it works just fine.
I will mark the ticket as resolved.
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Laura,
I have added the suggested code in style.css of the child theme but there is not change.
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Thanks for the clarifications. I understand now how it works. In case I would like to hide this (because in many cases it will not be accurate and just confusing for end user) is there a way to do it?
Regards.
lusienParticipantHi Radu,
Thanks a lot for your support.
With the instructions provided I was able to hide the members search from point 3.
On point 4, please note I am having a advanced search using the Shortcodes Ultimate recommended plugin. I have tried to add the code you mentioned in the form header however I cannot see any change (see attached).
Not sure if it works the same.
Regards.
