Thanks. Yes that’s the plugin I was thinking of.
I’d like to move off more heavy weight page builders like wpbakery- lack of variable width columns in Gutenberg is the first thing I encountered that would make this difficult.Awesome thank you!

If there was anyway you can support variable width columns in Gutenberg that’s something I’ll need to fully switch over.
There is a plug-in from a theme manufacturer called ‘Kadence blocks’ that does this, but I’d much rather use something you create since I know for sure it will work.Thanks,
It was a bit of a mission to do manually since I had to deactivate and delete the existing Kleo theme. However it’s all up and working now, thanks. Hopefully future updates will just work.I looked at the bbpress shortcodes, but they don’t allow you to do something like
‘Show most recent 5 topics from a forum’.
I was hoping to be able to do something like the kleo posts element and build a query that limited to show topics within a forumThis feature would be a fantastic addition! The VC posts with pagination are quite ugly compared with Kleo post grid.
Ahh, ok I see what happened.
When I installed Kleo theme it didn’t update visual composer. When I tried to update visual composer it failed. However, when I deactivated visual composer, then updated (through Appearance | install plugins page) it updated correctly, and everything works as expected.So looks like on upgrade there was a failure to automatically update visual composer plugin which resulted in an incompatibility that caused inner container option not even to show (see attached for what I was seeing on old visual composer).
I’m all good now, thanks. Perhaps something to look at for next update is to get visual composer update happning a bit smoother.

Oh, nevermind, I figured it out. It was a plugin conflict with Advanced Ads.
FYI I used plugin organizer to remove advanced ads from that page. all goodSolved!!
Thank you for your help! This has been tremendously frustrating.I believe this is what solved it:
1. Purge Max CDN cache
2. Reboot machineI also set Cloudflare to development mode.
Then I reloaded the editor and tried again, and it works.
My hypothesis is that there was a mismatch of resource versions, and an out of date js was being loaded from the CDN. I also believe that the browser/OS behavior is such that just purging the Max CDN cache and reloading the browser DID NOT cause the browser to try and download the resources again. Perhaps in the same way that DNS resolutions are cached system wide, static resources are cached more durably than a browser session.
This would also explain the behavior I was seeing, when I updated, couldn’t get it to work, then downgraded everything would work again – it was loading the old, now compatible js version when I downgraded.

I hope noone else has to encounter this, but if they do you can ask them to:
1. Clear CDN cache (e.g. Max CDN)
2. Clear local cache (e.g. ZenCache)
3. Set Cloudflare to development mode (this didn’t seem to have an effect, but get the caches out the way will help)
4. REBOOT (counterintuitive, an incognito session is not sufficient, nor is restarting the browser)
5. Reload the editor and viola!I’m at a loss.
I’ve tried it on two different Macs, Safari, Chrome, Firefox. On iPad with Chrome and Safari and in incognito windows. I’ve also tried killing all the Chrome helper processes and closing every other app on the computer.I’ve also tried purging local and CDN cache.
Do you have any ideas what else I could try?
I’m going to try rebooting and purging caches again, but I’m not super optimistic 🙁
