Here’s an example. The author information below the title was set to 14px. As you can see, now it is larger than the body text. Even going back into the posts and playing with those sizes won’t give me different results.

So it took about 9 hours to work after placing it in my style.css, but now it works.

However, there are some places that I made smaller text of 14px, like the author name of an article. And for some reason those texts blocks are showing text of about 20px. So my font that I made to be small is showing up larger than my body text.

What do I do if I want to have certain places where the text is smaller? I can’t choose from within the text block settings because that isn’t working.

I’m trying to play with using a featured image but it’s impossible to get any control over it. I tried this code you suggested somewhere

    .single img.attachment-kleo-full-width {
    width: 50%;
    }

and it just puts the image to the left of the page, leaving the other half empty. If I change the percentage it’s still stuck too the left and just massive. Is there a way of changing the height too? Maybe cropping the photo? The options for this feel pretty 2002 for such an important function.

Otherwise I would just need to be able to do with a featured image what I am doing to this image I use in a row. Is everything I do with a featured image going to require a lot of custom code in terms of placement and size and appearance?

You think there is a way I could insert a featured image in the post but somehow hide it from the inside of the post but have it communicate with everything else in VC?

Also, I can save featured to my Post Grid template and they work only some of the time.

    This idea does work.

But now I’m having some issues with the grid builder. I’m following the tutorial videos they have put out along with the link you sent but my results are not the same after following their instructions.

When I use the NEWS Highlight short code it will take the first image from the post and use it as the featured image on the main page. I don’t insert featured images in my posts because it is too hard to have any control over them. Instead I was told to use a row and set an image as the row background. I prefer this, though this won’t display this first image that I place in this row. Instead it takes the first image I use in a text block. Its very annoying.

-Is there a way I can tell the grid builder that I want them to take the image from the post and use it as the featured image? Ideally it would be the background image of the first row that I put in my post.

Right now all of my posts with Grid builder are showing up blue. Let me know if you have got an idea for me, thanks.

If you check out my site I think you will understand what I am trying to do. My reason for wanting to use Grid builder is so that I can have posts under multiple categories and they stay on the front page when flipping through categories.

You’ll see that this H1 is still white. It is also only on the left. I would like to have more control over how these category pages look.

    Look at this post:
    http://www.hollagully.com/hollagully-hotlist-5-best-podcasts-creative-entrepreneurs/

You will see in the News Highlight column on the right hand side, I have the background color set to #1c1c1c

If you try to set a border color to this element, it will not save. It only saves the background but no border. I would like to try with white, or grey, but it won’t save.

Perhaps you could also tell me why (photo attached), the text of the category is so big? It’s almost the same size as the title of the article. I don’t know if that category text is h2, h3, h4, h5, etc. And I have no way of knowing.

Do you guys have a list which tells Kleo users which H text affects what elements on the site? On the home page these categories are nice and small. But for some reason when I add a News Highlight shortcode to a post, they are really big. Very confusing.

Can’t I just set one that is uniform for every text block used throughout the entire site? Shouldn’t I be able to just insert a text text block anywhere and have my settings for Body Text in my theme options be attributed to all Body Text throughout the site? Why is it different everywhere?

I would like to be able to test several line heights and see what I feel is appropriate for the site. But it seems every page is giving me different results, when I have not changed any settings anywhere.

You would think that by going into: Theme Options – Fonts – Body – and then setting a text size and a line height, that would effect the body text and line height of my entire site. How come this only effects some pages and not others, even though BOTH pages were build the EXACT same way?

For some reason, this page in the photo below has a nice line height. I would like the site to use that. In my Settings I have the body text size set to 18px and the line height to 24px. I have no way of knowing if these settings are effecting this page though, because every page is looking different.

I would like to have every text block follow the same instructions.

Sp let’s experiment with Body Text 18px and Line Height 24px

This is what I have in my settings, as you can see in the second photo. But for some reason, pages look different from posts.

If I use the Visual Composer shortcode it just places every tag that I have ever made in there, not the tags that are relevant to the article, which I chose in the backend. There are no option settings in the shortcode.

I already have this selected and the tags still don’t show. Could this be because I am using visual composer?

I did use that and the image was showing up in weird places on the top of the post and I had no control of where it was.

I sent a support ticket for this problem and you recommended that I use a row as the first element and set an image as the background to the row. This works much better. But now Kleo doesn’t take that image as my feature image to be shown from the home page. It takes the first one from a text block that is put after the first row.

I wish I could have a featured image that does not appear IN the post but is the image that you see for that post on the home page.

Otherwise I would like for Kleo to use the image I set as the background for the first row.

Take a look at this post.
    http://www.hollagully.com/hollagully-hotlist-5-best-podcasts-creative-entrepreneurs/

I put that image as the background for the row at the top of the page. That is the one I want kleo to display for the post. But I have to put the image in the article AGAIN, otherwise Kleo takes a different picture.

In the reference pictures I sent above, those feature images for those posts do not exist IN THE ACTUAL POST. If I set a feature image in Kleo, it places the image randomly at the top of the page and very large.

Lets try a line height of 30px.

It’s confusing why it works on some pages but not others and I then have to then go insert CSS somewhere. You’d think i can have one option of changing the line height that would effect the entire site. Why does it pick and choose on it’s own where it decides to work?

Not sure I understand how making “classes” works.

In the element for the column where it says Extra Class Name I wrote “borders.” Then I went into my Custom CSS in my settings and put in the code you gave me. I then save both settings, refreshed my page, and nothing happens.

Is there a video tutorial somewhere on Class Names?

A short code for tags so we could put them where we wish would be a great idea for Visual Composer

Ideally I would have them at the bottom of a blog post, before the “Share This” title with the social icons.

Also, is there a way of moving the name of the category to the center? How about putting a description underneath to tell the visitor about what they can expect to find in the category? These category pages have very little options.

This is what my category page looks like now. I have no control over the size of these. They are very small. It would be nice to choose how many fill a row and maybe some social share icons next to “Read More”

These settings work great everywhere else on my site but in visual composer. But there is no option in visual composer for line height.

If you look at this photo, the related posts have huge titles and text with proper line height, but the article is not getting any of those settings.

I can’t figure out which of the H1, H2, H3, etc are controlling what. If I use H3 in a post it is not the same as my settings for H3 but somehow it changes the titles of every post that pops up.

This titles in the posts in this photo are huge, but I don’t even know which “H” controls them!!!

It’s the vague grey line between the white separator and the posts. It’s difficult to see because I made it the least noticable as possible, but I can still notice it.

Yes, the main part I need changed is in this photo. When I change the menu border it changes the whole thing, the part in your photo and in mine. My problem is that I have an image for a background and at the bottom of the menu it looks messy. Do you have a solution?

Hi this does not work. When I scroll down it moves the logo to the left top corner and is very distracting. It also doesnt understand where it wants to be in relation to the categories in the header. Very confusing, take a look.

I solved this issue by adding a row with an image behind it at the top of the template and just played with the settings to get it sitting right. It would be cool if there was a nice tinting effect available to make this top image a bit darker so I could put text over it without it clashing. I figured “Enable Dark Gradient” would have done the trick but it didnt.

I think the size that they appear in the side bar of a post is a good size to have them appear in the blog page. That way I know roughly what size of photo to put in my posts as the first photo so that they closely fit the widget on each page. When every widget is a different size posts are more likely to look incoherent and make people less likely to click them when you only see a small piece of the picture.

I really don’t know what else to provide to let you sign in FTP. Do you just want to take my Bluehost info and sign in? I am really not good with this stuff and am losing a lot of time and there doesn’t seem to be a systematic approach to learning it. I didn’t know that I needed to learn programming before using WordPress.

The first photo I attached shows the FTP profile I made for you and tells that the information is correct. I don’t know what other magic code I could give you.

I tried taking the .php zip file you sent. When I sign into the File Manager and go to wp-content/themes/kleo-child/k_elements/ there is no k_elements. It just stops at kleo child and only gives the option of Functions, Screenshots, and Style.Css, as seen in the second photo.

K_Elements is in the plugin folder.

I tried going to the K elements in the plugin folder in my WP dashboard and open its settings and insert the code you gave me. It just fucked up the site and I had to remove it.

Sure hope this works, I had no idea what FTP was before this.

There are a few things I’d like you to look at and give me answers to. Visit my website http://www.hollagully.com and look on the Home page for the post “Best Websites For Promoting Your Design Portfolio.” You see how a lot of the photo is cut off and you can’t see the full image? It is like this for all posts on the Home page. This photo was initially the size of a typical facebook post image.

Now in the menu click on Design. When this post pops up you can see the full image. In this Design area the size and shape of the post changes to fit the first photo in the post. But on the Home page it is fixed.

What do I have to do so that this doesn’t happen? Do I have to have the same size photo as the first photo in every post? How come I visit websites and their posts photo may be very large and it works on the Home page and on their Blog page?

Now look at the Kleo Pinterest theme example you guys have. http://seventhqueen.com/themes/kleo/pinterest/ There seem to be 2 different size posts, depending on the size of the image. How do I get more control of how these posts appear?
