Moderator@abe – Can you assist here? I havent opened a case with rtMedia yet since I have a test site that’s not having this issue. I can run BP 2.3.4 and rtMedia AND see comments. Anyhow, can you do some testing on the Kleo demo site which is also having this problem? I just want to make sure that we are certain its a rtMedia issue before contacting them.

ModeratorThat’s the problem. You have to run the VC version that goes with your current Kleo version. Currently Kleo 3.0.10 runs with VC 4.7.4

I think I figured out your newer comments on old posts issue. The activity item for that post doesnt exist, so it cant display a comment for it in the activity feed.
I went to your activity feed, changed the filter to Posts and scrolled down back to 4 months ago and its not in the list. As a test, I clicked on one from 2 months, 2 weeks ago, made a comment and that did show up.
In looking at the comment filter query that BP uses to get a list of comments, its reliant upon the original post activity to be in the activity table. So, this isnt a bug. If you can demonstrate that this isnt the case, I’ll be happy to investigate further.

ModeratorI found this issue with the WP 2015 Theme and another theme I’m using on a different site. So, its not as if we need to fix something in Kleo. The reason why I didnt notice this before on the old test site that I mentioned before is because rtMedia hadnt been updated. No, I dont think you need to leave rtMedia disabled, but you need to decide that for yourself until rtMedia releases a fix. In other words, what’s more important at this very moment to you. Seeing comments or users adding media?
I’ll be reporting this to rtMedia.
As far as those newer comments, they were made on old posts. So perhaps there’s an issue that BP introduced with their recent update and changes in blog comment syncing that effects posts created before the BP update released 2 weeks ago.

But that’s usually an indication of a jquery error which are usually caused by plugin conflicts. Disable all plugins except BP. Test again. If it works, start enabling plugins one by one to find the problem plugin.

ModeratorI wasnt trying to be irritating. You were implying that this was a Kleo bug. I was telling you that it wasnt.
Turns out this isnt a bug and its not a kleo issue. Its the new way that buddypress is syncing post comments. Instead of showing an individual activity item for the comment, it will attach it to the original post activity item. So since the newsletter post you linked me to is 4 years old, you’d have to scroll down through 4 years to see it.
Go to your activity feed and scroll down to the last post you published. You will see the comment I left.

ModeratorLooks like mail chimp is throwing jquery errors which will stop the processing (loading) of the slider and cause issues with VC which relies on clean jquery.
The common thing to do when something doesnt work is to look for plugin conflicts by disabling all plugins, verify that it works, then enable them one by one to find the problem plugin.

ModeratorTransparent main menu is for use when you want to use an image/slider under it. I dont see why you would want a transparent menu on that page. So, leave it off in theme options and turn it on at the page level for pages that need it.

ModeratorIf you are referring to the “Restrict users from adding media to their profile using rtMedia” setting in Theme Options, then you’re correct. It only restricts them from adding it via the media tab. It doesnt effect the activity feed. If you would like to see the feature added to Kleo, I can move this to the Feature Request forum to be considered for future releases.

ModeratorSee if your host will allow you to allocate 256m. That should allow you to run quite a few plugins. But remember the more plugins you have the slower your site will be.

ModeratorSince I’ve pretty much proven its not a Kleo issue (you can test this yourself by temporarily enabling the WP 2015 Theme to see if you still have the issue) we will be reliant upon BP to figure it out or at least assist. We have no control over their resources.
If you absolutely need this to work right now, you can try downgrading BP to 2.3.3 https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/developers/

ModeratorThe registration, along with other BP pages are supposed to be blank. BP uses php templating to produce the pages. The pages in the WP admin are there as placeholders so you dont mistakenly use those slugs and screw everything up.
If you are logged in, you will be redirected to the home page if you try to access the registration page. Theres no reason for someone to access the registration page if they are already logged in.
