sharmstr – racingrulz is a friend of mine and acquired one of my websites (a news media website). That is the one he is having issues with. Can you or Abe help him?

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #96542

Ah, good to know. Well, congrats to SQ as a whole for being the backbone of the most-talked about dating website of the day!

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #96534

Edit from other post … either Kleo, Sweetdate, or combo of both. It has both in source code.

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #96533

Not sure who runs it, but I see the “controversial” http://www.wherewhitepeoplemeet.com is using Kleo. I say controversial in quotes because I don’t find any issue with it, but news media is trying to make a big deal about it. It is all over news channels (they are trying to race bait with it, even though there are plenty of websites out there catered to other races).

Haha Abe. Well, no … but nothing to do with you all. Simply put, my main client I have had since Dec. 2011 made me an offer I couldn’t refuse, so I moved from NC to KY and now work directly for that company and client. That caused me to stop trying to build my personal business and just roll with the clients I have. Actually, I have reduced my client count a bit. I debated closing the biz completely, but my current client list I can manage after hours, and it brings in some good money monthly, so I am keeping them, for now.

in reply to: Website Slow … GoDaddy Blaming Theme and JS_Composer #74715

I have disabled all non-used plugins. I am planning on installing w3 total cache and doing that next.

The speed is better since I updated the WP to the latest (was one version behind) as well as all plugins and Kleo. But I think it fluctuates.

in reply to: STEPS TO UPDATE KLEO THEME AND PLUGINS #74714

Abe, the latest update works great with all the notices to update plugins. Love it!

in reply to: STEPS TO UPDATE KLEO THEME AND PLUGINS #72372

Question: I just updated to 3.0.6 and there was a Visual Composer automatic update. Also, I noticed a few versions back the box in the bottom right for Revolution Slider to update is no longer there. Are updates for these two automatic now, or are there new instructions (outdating the original topic instructions)?

    Thanks.

in reply to: Background image doesnt look right on mobile #60546

Thanks. That made mobile look better. I hate using images like this as a background because someone will end up having a very high resolution monitor and will look bizarre where the image ends, but it works well for most.

    Launched another!

Helping Kids Perform – Mental Skills Every Parent, Teacher, and Coach Should Master!
    http://www.helpingkidsperform.com

It is a website for a new book by a friend of mine, Dr. Jacques Dallaire, who is an internationally-recognized performance expert.

The website is somewhat basic on purpose at this time since he wanted the focus to be the book and material, not anything flashy as far as images and such. We will be adding reader feedback in the future after some read and it comes in.

I also have multiple websites that will be converting to Kleo, and a couple in development that I cannot link yet due to being in an unfinished / non-published status.

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #53163

Thanks Abe. Glad to hear, especially with the amount of licenses I am buying. Haha

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #53121

Thanks Abe! I have two new websites currently in development (both should launch by the end of next week) and some upcoming conversions / relaunches of clients from older themes to Kleo. And I have about five new client potentials in discussion for web dev. AND, one of these days I will relaunch my corp website into Kleo (cover page on another theme right now).

I hope you all keep updating Kleo for years to come, because right now it is the only theme I need, so I keep buying those licenses for each install!

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #53099

Just launched another website using Kleo!

    http://www.benrhodes.com

This is a relaunch for my client Ben Rhodes, who is an 18-year-old NASCAR driver (racing this year for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR XFINITY Series). Ben has been a long-time web client of mine (since 2010), and up until the end of last year, I was also his PR rep. I was able to get a championship with him in a lower division of NASCAR, and this year I decided to scale back to just web dev / social media management with him so I could focus on my web business and not do the “traveling circus” of NASCAR. Anywho, the new website launch I ported over content from the previous one on an all-new WP install with Kleo. Hope you all like!

    Launched another!

    http://www.scottheckert.com

Website for Scott Heckert, a 21-year-old NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race car driver.

Thanks sharmstr! Keep your figures crossed this happens. It could be BIG!

Good deal… glad I could help at least narrow it down a bit. I love this theme … already purchased six licenses for six websites I have developed, and have three more websites in the works over the next week or two (and more current client conversions coming down the line!).

Ahhh … excellent! I wonder if one of the most-recent updates to VC fixed, but it was holding that old one until the delete / re-insert.

Thanks Andrei! Time for me to keep diggin’ on the new layout!

in reply to: Suggested Logo Sizes #48131

Laura, I do understand that as I am a web dev and have spent quite a lot of money on themes over the years, including multiple licenses of Kleo (and still plan on buying more for future web projects). This is something I do know, and my apologizes if you think I am a clueless developer.

I think you might be completely misunderstanding what I am asking here.

Kleo main theme has undergone several theme updates since it was launched, fixing various bugs and adding various new features and plugin adaptations. To me, I consider this situation a bug or a flaw in the programming that intentionally restricts, by the coding, the size of the logo. Nowhere in the documentation that I read or saw (maybe I missed it) that stock Kleo forces and only uses logos 88px tall. So, again, this to me is a bug, and the adjustment you provided would be added into the stock programming in a future Kleo update.

If that is the case, when that happens, I can then remove that coding from my Kleo Child Theme coding as it would be unnecessary to have. In other words, as I mentioned before, I would then remove it to keep it clean so I do not have unnecessary coding in there.

So my question is, do you all find this as a bug and will it be updated in a future release, or is this not considered a bug and will not be altered in the future?

That is all I was asking. Just a friendly check to see if you all classified this as a bug with a temp fix for me that will be applied to a future Kleo release. I certainly didn’t intend on this going this far or somewhat be considered a clueless developer.

in reply to: Suggested Logo Sizes #48078

Laura, sorry if I wasn’t clear. I like to keep my child theme css clean, so if Kleo was going to be updated in the future with this coding, I can put a reminder to eventually remove that code … or the opposite, have a reminder in my personal web dev guides to always add it on every install and keep it in there. Just curious. 🙂

in reply to: Suggested Logo Sizes #48038

    Laura,

    Works perfect! Thanks!

Just for my reference, is this going to be adjusted in a future Kleo theme update, or will I need to continue to do this across all my websites into the future? I have several websites I will be building that have various height requirements for the logo.

    Thanks!

    Thanks sharmstr!

in reply to: Where do I change color sets for Kleo Posts Grid? #47578

Ahhhh … that is it, and makes sense now. I thought I was going crazy since I couldn’t find purple anywhere in the styling options. Knowing it is hard coded makes me feel a little better.

in reply to: Suggested Logo Sizes #47507

Ok, I have discovered a bug / problem. On a new website I am building, I made the logo size 150px tall. It generally works fine if I have the sticky top menu on and resize on scroll on. However, I just turned off the sticky top menu, and even though I have the menu area set at 150px tall, the logo is 88 pixels tall (the default), which makes the logo smaller than desired.

How do I force the height of the logo to be the size of the image I uploaded (150px in this case)?

For issue number one, PERFECT! Posting text in the excerpt area fixes this. I actually never use this field since I let the other options control it, but in this case, since VC is probably difficult for it to pull info from like you said, I will need to use it in this case.

For issue two, I am creating a short video that I will link to shortly.

Just checking to see if this has been looked at.

Also, to add, I think there is a problem with the posts grid feature as well (the non-kleo branded one). I try to change the text size in a custom grid elements I created, and it doesn’t seem to matter if I use H1 through H6 or anything else. The displayed text size doesn’t change.

in reply to: Odd color behavior in two spots #46180

The code worked that you provided for the breadcrumb area. Thanks!

Ok, for the other issue(s) …

I will figure out how to do this. I do not want to mess with the current website too much today as the driver is racing, so he might get some traffic. I can tell you where the problem exists though. I added the slider code to the bottom of the general-header-section.php page.

    <?php putRevSlider("primary") ?>

For reference purposes, I put a <BR> code in on the line above to take a screenshot. You can see the area is white, so somewhere the code is pulling white, or maybe just not pulling any color and defaulting as white. How would I change that to add in a default background color on the full wide?

The other problem I am having with this is the revolution slider. It isn’t allowing me to put black (#000000) as a background color, so when it changes, the background is white inbetween slides. That is why I was thinking of changing the default background color of the entire site to black too just to cover up that issue.

Laura, sorry if I am confusing you.

I am verifying … the default background for the website when in wide mode appears to be white. How do I change that?

The second issue is what the screen capture I attached is. The text should be that pink in the breadcrumbs area, but it is a dark grey for some reason.

in reply to: Odd color behavior in two spots #46012

Good morning Laura. The website in question is linked at the start of the post topic. 🙂

in reply to: Showcase KLEO #45940

Launched my fifth website using Kleo!

    http://www.jhollemanmotorsports.com

The website is for race car driver John Holleman. This one was a bit tricky for me to do since his colors are black, pink, and blue. Also, I didn’t have a lot of great hi-res photos to work with, so I made do with what I could. I initially had it as a boxed layout, but after tweaking with it over and over, I just hated the way it looked. So I went wide and it made it much better. I still need to go back in and readjust some photos due to the change in size, but I needed to launch the website tonight.

in reply to: Adding advertising areas in header using a widget #44992

Also, I have inserted HTML coding into the theme page at one point to test it out and it works pretty good (mobile is a bit funky, so I have to play with that). But I wasn’t sure what the “best” way to do this would be. Essentially looking for ideas from you all.

in reply to: Adding advertising areas in header using a widget #44990

Dangit! Forgot to attach image example. I am too quick to click submit. haha
