Reflect GrowthParticipant
I’ve side-stepped this issue, by using the Grid Builder tool to create a new layout and scrapping my original code.
Very weird, but hey all good now!
Cheers, Matt
Reflect GrowthParticipantI should add that, in trying to debug, when I remove my shortcode entirely from the page, the Kleo Post Carousel shows the latest post as expected.
Reflect GrowthParticipantAny movement on this at all? Would love to implement a KB into my Kleo based site!
Reflect GrowthParticipantAnd I still get a 403 for http://www.reflectgrowth.com/wp-content/themes/kleo/assets/css/ for some reason…
Reflect GrowthParticipantUpdate: I disabled CDN support and most of the errors have stopped. I have replaced the original files from 4.0.6 and re-ran and same.
In short seems like the issue for me is related to using the CDN (via Super Cache) – Any thoughts guys?
Reflect GrowthParticipantActually just tested, added the files, cleared all caches (minify & super-cache) – problem still occurs š
Reflect GrowthParticipantHey Guys,
Seeing this issue after updating to WP 4.5 and Kleo 4.0.6 – is this still the recommended fix?
Cheers, Matt
Reflect GrowthParticipantHi @Radu,
Sorry for the delay in responding. The problem is actually after that part in the “Reset Password” process. It’s when you click on a link in the email sent to you, that you get taken to a screen to enter your new password but there are no fields shown on screen. So essentially you cannot set a new password (see the first attachment for what the screen looks like).
It appears this is caused by element styles being applied (see the second attachment).
Does that make sense? š
Reflect GrowthParticipantThese are the styles I was referring to š

Seems a little crazy that the page options (in the backend editor) don’t seem to override the appearance of the side bar to me!
Reflect GrowthParticipant@hamiltontroy007 – What was the issue? I’m facing the same query for testimonials pages at the moment.
Cheers, Matt
Reflect GrowthParticipantThanks for all the input guys, really appreciate it.
I determined that the issue was caused by using the “[bbp-topic-index]” shortcode on the “Forums” page, and that to have the pagination working correctly I needed to go into WordPress Admin > Settings > Forums and under “Forums Root Slug” choose that “Forum root should show” “Topics by freshness”.
Kudos to this thread for getting me the resolution: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/pagination-broken-when-using-shortcode-for-topic-index/

Reflect GrowthParticipantNote: I have another support thread on the go for what I thought was a separate issue over at: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/wp-minify-affecting-functionality-of-tabs-with-carousel-inside#post-82208
However, I believe all the issues I’m seeings are in relation to combining JS files (as I do not see issues when not combined, minification doesn’t affect the issues at all).
I’ll continue to update my original thread, but if @sharmstr or @ianll have any input it would be most welcomed š
Cheers, Matt
October 14, 2015 at 11:30 in reply to: WP-Minify: Affecting functionality of Tabs with Carousel inside #82208Reflect GrowthParticipantIt’s worth noting that I’ve been observing other issues to relating to combining* JS too:
- Duplicate activity status messages – as commented over on this support thread: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/activity-stream-multiple-posts-with-every-post/#post-82197
- Media attachment issues on statuses – when attaching images as part of an activity statement, the image is not included and left unloaded
On face value it seems there’s some issues with the JS scripts conflicting when combined*. Perhaps namespace issues / conflicts?
*Note: I have tested with “combine files but do not minify” enabled and this does not affect the issues observed, leading me to think it’s related to combining files only (as opposed to a minification issue directly).
Reflect GrowthParticipantI’ve done some further debugging today. The issue, in my instance, is related to the minify / combine of javascript files provided (powered by wp-minify-fix). With this disabled I do not see duplicate status updates.
That suggests to me that I perhaps need to exclude certain scripts from the minify / combine process? So far the following scripts are excluded:
- wsi-public.js (WordPress Social Invites)
- app.min.js (From the Kleo theme) ā As Iād observed many broken features on the site with this included
- init.js (From the Kleo theme) ā As recommended on another support thread
- modernizr.custom.46504.js (From the Kleo theme) ā As recommended on another support thread
- jquery.carouFredSel-6.2.0-packed.js (From the Kleo theme) ā Related to a separate support query
@sharmstr / @ianll – Could you guys suggest any other JS files that may be coming into play here?October 14, 2015 at 09:12 in reply to: WP-Minify: Affecting functionality of Tabs with Carousel inside #82196Reflect GrowthParticipant@Laura – thank you that would be awesome š Much appreciated.
Regards, Matt
Reflect GrowthParticipant@sharmstr – Just about to start debugging this issue on our site (having just re-introduced caching & cdn via wp-super-cache and minify / combine via wp-minify-fix). Would you be able to share the name & location of the files that you found were being loaded twice? So I know what to keep an eye out for.
@ianll – Any other details on the heartbeat issue you can share would be amazing! Will be looking into this also in case this is the cause of our issue.Apologies for resurrecting an older thread (as opposed to creating a new one), thought it may be best to keep all the associated knowledge for this issue on one thread š
Cheers, Matt
Reflect GrowthParticipantYikes that formatting went a little crazy! I just put li tags around the reproduction steps.
May 8, 2015 at 05:29 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #57928Reflect GrowthParticipant@Andrei my apologies I didn’t know you’d already tested with that change š Thanks for your help.
May 8, 2015 at 05:10 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #57923Reflect GrowthParticipantThanks @Andrei I will update the thread if I find anything further myself. It feels as though it may just be another filter that needs to be applied for forum page titles specifically, but that seems a bit over the top.
I’m certain this was all working fine initially, as the historic google indexes were showing the right page titles. Sounds like something has snuck in under the radar.
Would be worth flagging the WordPress change re: page title support in case that has in some way affected the theme to š This article outlines the change introduced in WordPress 4.1:

It seems that if you navigate to a topic the fix works, but if you look at the page title for a forum just a list of tags is shown for the page title.
Any thoughts on this aspect of the issue? @bradh / @Andrei
I’ll investigate this further shortly.
May 3, 2015 at 06:59 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #57092Reflect GrowthParticipant@bradh – thank you mate! You’re a legend. Can’t believe that I was just one character off with the filter name – doh!!
@Andrei – Just to clarify I’m not using the Yoast plugin. The above filter’s correct the behaviour I was seeing šOnce again big thanks to @bradh! Tried, tested & working like a charm!
Reflect GrowthParticipantAt that stage you really need to get access to your site files either through a cPanel or over FTP. Sounds like your theme has partially updated and is probably throwing a couple of errors.
This isnt official advice but I’d likely backup your site files, then move (or delete) the old kleo theme folder (out of the themes directory) and upload the new one.
Hope that helps š
April 18, 2015 at 02:29 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #55014Reflect GrowthParticipantThanks Andrei, I did take a look but I think that may be specific to the plugin you mentioned. Unless I’m missing something?
I’ve tried using the ‘bp_modify_page_title’ filter which works for changing the page title for Buddypress pages successfully. The same issue exists for bbPress pages, so I’m now hunting for a similar filter I can use for those pages too.
COPY CODE/* BuddyPress & bbPress: Page Title fix */ add_filter( 'bp_modify_page_title', 'my_page_title', 10); // Works for BP pages fine :) add_filter('bb_title', 'my_page_title'); // Doesn't work for BB pages :( function my_page_title( $title) { return $title.' Reflect Growth'; // TODO: Change to dynamic WP func call. }
As an aside, I’m wondering if this issue cropped up when WordPress 4.1 introduced the theme support for page titles? Can’t substantiate that one though, just a little puzzled as I’m sure this was working fine.
April 15, 2015 at 13:34 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #54550Reflect GrowthParticipantThese couple of links seem to suggest a filter that might work – I’ll try and have a go at this next:
– https://buddypress.org/support/topic/editing-group-and-forum-page-title-tags/
– https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-to-edit-title-tags/I reckon bp_modify_page_title is the filter worth looking at! I’ll update when I get 5 š
April 15, 2015 at 13:27 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #54549Reflect GrowthParticipantI’ve done a disable of all plugins with the exception of bbpress & buddy press and even swapped themes the problem still persists!
So this look like a buddypress & bbpress issue? Might be that there is an action / filter that needs to be implemented to format page titles for buddypress & bbpress specifically?
@Support – How did you guys achieve this for your demo site?
April 11, 2015 at 02:14 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #53985Reflect GrowthParticipantLooking at the demo sites at: http://seventhqueen.com/themes/kleo/activity/
It seems that it is meant to work, but for some reason its not for BuddyPress & bbPress.
Support – Can you guys shed any light on this at all?
My next steps are to disable all plugins and re-test, to ensure its not a plugin affecting this.
April 6, 2015 at 09:05 in reply to: HTML Tag for Page Titles Seems Broken for Buddypress & bbPress #53371Reflect GrowthParticipantThis reply has been set as private.Reflect GrowthParticipantIs it possible to have the ability to comment added onto the “Activity Stream” component provided through the visual editor.
E.g. If I create a page , add the “Activity Stream” component to it, it will load the stream but only show the favourite or delete options, not the ability to comment (like on the Site Wide Activity page).
Reflect GrowthParticipantOnly way I can seem to get this to work is to do two things:
1st Change: line 78 in /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-widgets.php to:
<form name=”bp-login-form” id=”bp-login-widget-form” class=”standard-form” action=”<?php echo esc_url( site_url( ‘wp-login.php’, ‘login_post’ ) ); ?>?redirect_to=<?=current_url();?>” method=”post”>
Where current_url() is a custom function to get the current URL.
2nd Change: In your themes function.php add in:
function login_redirect( $redirect_to, $request, $user ){
if(isset($_REQUEST[‘redirect_to’])){
return $_REQUEST[‘redirect_to’];
}
return home_url();
}
add_filter( ‘login_redirect’, ‘login_redirect’, 10, 3 );Which will basically redirect to the value set in the “request_to” GET variable where this is set. Where it isn’t it will send the user to the home page of your instance.
Anyone got any less invasive ways of achieving this? I’d rather not be hacking the core of Buddypress.
Reflect GrowthParticipantIn fairness the Theme Option does specifically say this is for the Popup window only. Just seems a shame to have the BuddyPress widget behave complete differently – which will only confuse site users.
Reflect GrowthParticipantHey there,
I’m on Kleo 2.4 and this is not working for me either.
Reproduction Steps:
1) Use BuddyPress Login widget on sidebar
2) Enter username / passsword
3) User is redirected to wordpress dashboard.The Modal window from the Login link behaves as @Radu has outlined. But, the Buddypress login widget does not. Any thoughts, before I start trying to fix this with a plugin / extra code.
Reflect GrowthParticipantLooks like this fixes it:
COPY CODE#bbpress-forums div.reply { height: auto; width: 100%; position: relative; /* Added */ overflow: hidden; /* Added */ }
Can you see anything wrong with this?
