1- The age field do you mean?
2- The search can use all profile fields, but if some users do not fill it, then they would be skipped from the search, as required fields are always filled, then all users should have it
I think this would help you https://www.buddyboss.com/product/buddypress-member-types/ but i am not sure if there is any free option

3- Advanced profile search just adds the profile form inside an accordion, does not change how the search works
