the blog page. nothing custom about it. did not alter theme pages for it or anything.

beansmcguillicuttyParticipantI was able to fix things by adding the ‘featured’ tag to all blog posts. not they all show up. However, one post… the original and the only one showing up before… is sort of featured again at the bottom… where is that setting?
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantHey Sharmstr… I cant grant access… too much at stake, although I do think you are fully awesome. 🙂
I’ll just keep plugging away.
More info: it only shows my first published blog post on the blog page. no relationship between categories or tags seems to affect anything.
Could have something to do with the new featured content feature…?

beansmcguillicuttyParticipantThanks @bazaarocommunity ! I got the EEEW plugin rocking and really sped things up!
Anyone have any suggestions on getting control of the javascript? (render blocking scripts…)
Thanks,

beansmcguillicuttyParticipantNone of those guys were me. 🙂 I’m going to start this thing this week and let you know what i found out.

BuddyPress API
BuddyPress currently has no official API for external communication. There are a few 3rd Party API plugins. These may not be up to date or working. Use at your own discretion.
API Plugins:
JSON API for BuddyPress: 3rd Party Developer https://wordpress.org/plugins/json-api-for-buddypress

Thoughts on creating an app for our kleo buddypress sites? A Facebook app clone of sorts…
Hope ur doing well.

beansmcguillicuttyParticipant+1 @Pixx
I am researching making my own for my buddypress/kleo site right now…and its slim pickns.

Also, what happened to the Facebook style cover pic option for this latest update? I don’t see it on the feature list…
rock and roll.
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantSorry Sharmstr, I meant the site header…so the whole profile and activity stuff can all move upward….going to get serious with my CSS this evening on it….will let you know how it goes…
Thanks for your help bro,

February 2, 2015 at 23:38 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44469beansmcguillicuttyParticipantYes…let me look through my stuff to see if I changed something else along the way…
February 2, 2015 at 22:12 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44432beansmcguillicuttyParticipantSure thing!
1. copied into the child theme the register.php page from inside the kleo>buddypress>members> folder…making sure to have the correct folders ao the path is the same as the parent theme inside the child theme.
2. removed everything…then added this code:
<?php
echo do_shortcode(‘[pmpro_levels]’);
?>
3. *** I just used pmpro **** instead of userpro…
4. I was then able to select “register” inside buddypress settings. Which allows the social share plugins to send the correct invite links. 🙂***Only wish is to add Facebook registration to that page and integrate it with pmpro….gotta make signing up as easy as possible for my incoming members…*** if anyone knows if this is possible please let me know.
February 2, 2015 at 00:46 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44314beansmcguillicuttyParticipantSharmstr!!!!!!!!! That link was exactly what I needed…got things running smoothly now!!!!
Cheers,
beans
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantIts a bit un-user friendly out of the box for kleo….
Wishlist:
1. Control of the layout of all profile pages.
2. Ability to turn header off but still have nav menu…so everything moves up. Right now all of UX is below the fold and there is a lot of wasted space. The show more/show less function isn’t necessary.
3. Cover pics (Sharmstr just said this is coming in next update kids!)Any of these items possible now?
Thanks in advance!

February 1, 2015 at 23:48 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44305beansmcguillicuttyParticipantExcellent…I am doing it exactly like this now…
Only issue is I use Social invites…which pulls the ACCEPTURL from buddypress page settings…I selected “none” as the registration page in BP settings…
So when I send invites people are being sent to a blank registration page…
Is there a quick way to redirect them to the actual new (pmpro) sign up page?
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantBrilliance as usual Sharmstr! Thank you so very much for all fo your help. I appreciate it on a high level. Can’t wait to launch my site…getting closer by the day with your help.
Cheers,
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantSorry…I meant the nav bar one… Like in the attached screenshot.

January 30, 2015 at 21:52 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44178beansmcguillicuttyParticipantHa, thanks Sharmstr! I’m specifically talking about disabling the stock registration and using PmPro to handle that….therefore streamlining the process…
I read somewhere that PmPro handles both….although I believe I would loose the facebook integration.

January 30, 2015 at 21:28 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44175beansmcguillicuttyParticipantAn add-on but related question:
Can I turn off the Kleo registration system and just use the PmPro system to handle registration AND memberships?
Thanks in advance guys,
beans
January 30, 2015 at 21:08 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44169beansmcguillicuttyParticipantAren’t their forums paid only? I will do so. Thanks Sharmstr.
a
January 30, 2015 at 18:56 in reply to: Assign paid membership level at registration automatically? #44139beansmcguillicuttyParticipantLaura, thank you for your reply…
My main goal is to streamline the registration/membership process. Right now its bad user experience and potentially damaging to growing my numbers….
I need it to be as few steps as possible for people to become registered/create an account…and to set up their payment….
Restricting all of the pages doesn’t help streamline anything…and will confuse those that have gone through the registration process only to be redirected again and again to pay….
What would happen if I auto assigned the paid membership level?
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantHa, I must have brain damage…That fixed it…thanks Sharmstr! hey whats ur sites URL?…I saw its going live soon…
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantThanks for your reply Radu, but that doesn’t change anything….my default header is already set to what I’d need there…
I need the transparent black background to appear before scrolling starts….on the subpages.
Is there a way I can do this?
Thanks in advance,
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantOne more nav menu styling question…
How can I make sub pages start with the transparent black nav menu background instead of it fading in after starting to scroll down?
I like that it fades in on the home page…but my sub pages have a light background and the nav menu items are the same color…therefore invisible until scrolling fades in the black transparent bg for the menu…
Thanks in advance!
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantThanks Radu! For whatever reason I couldn’t find the selector using firebug…or googles dev tools..
Have a great day,
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantCool! thank you, I’ll look into how this would affect UX and may apply that code. I really appreciate your help as usual Abe.
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantThanks sharmstr, but I need this to remain unresolved until they add it to the theme…or it will fade into the darkness…
Unless you know if a plugin that would do this as smoothly as the kelo blog version…
Thank you for all of your help, I do appreciate it,
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantPlease add the social sharing piece that shows up after a blog post to any post in activity and the groups.
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantPlease add ‘like’ button to group posts. In fact please add this functionality to all posts.
thank you,
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantHi Abe,
Thanks for your reply…
I’d need to be a registered member to see if I can post something in portrait view on an iphone…but you can’t register on the demo site. Is this change coming in another update soon?
In the meantime, can you please send the updated CSS for me to try?
Thank you,
a
beansmcguillicuttyParticipantHi sharmstr! Thanks for the reply, and all of your help on here.
I mean, when someone posts to a group…I need there to be functionality for people to ‘like’ the post. I’m using it as a sort of voting system…most likes wins.
At somepoint while setting my site up I was able to change what the ‘like’ system said…but I cant find it anymore. Is there no way to do so in the kleo theme or buddypress itself?
Thanks!
