Hi, The Get Connected demo does not use a slider it's a WP Bakery row with some elements that are already set. You can go to WP Admin > Appearance > KLEO Demo Data and scroll to the very bottom for advanced options. Once you have scroll to the advanced options select 'Specific Page' from the drop down, then select 'Home Get Connected' from the second drop down that appears and finally check the option to import attachments if you wish to do so (see screenshot). Import the page. Now go to WP Admin > Pages and edit the Get Connected page, you may need to search for the page depending on how many pages you already have. Once you have opened the page in the WP Bakery editor you will see the whole page content. I have attached a screenshot where the green content is the area with the particles and the red content is the rest of the demo content below it. To reuse this content delete everything below the main row (red content) until only the first row (green) is left. In the WP Bakery bar click the template button, enter a title for the new template and save. You can now add this element to any page you wish by going to the desired page, editing with WP Bakery, and clicking the template button / selecting your save template to add it to the content. Hi,

This is not a feature of any of our themes or BuddyPress and the functionality would have to come from either a third party plugin or be custom coded by your developer. I have looked into the plugin options, there were 2, but both are very much out of date and it would not be safe to use them on a live site.

You should research any other plugin options available to you via Google/Bing etc to see what else is available to you.

This is a feature of the BP Profile Search plugin and it is not something we can change for you. If you need assistance with this plugin then please reach out to the plugin author for help with customizing the output of the plugin.

You can show your form on the members directory by going to WP Admin > Users > Profile Search and editing the form you wish to display. Once opened, select ‘Yes’ for the ‘Add to Directory’ and save your form (see screenshot). Make sure to purge your website cache and browser cache to see changes.

Sorry to hear of the issue you’re facing setting up your website. I’ll answer each point in the same numbered format below.

1. The SweetDate Child theme inherits all files from the parent theme so you do not have to update the Child theme. With the said, from time to time, you will need to update any files you have overridden within the Child theme as something major may have changed. If you plan to use the Child theme you should update on a staging or local environment before your live site to ensure all of your custom code works. Always check the changelog before updating, you can find it here https://archived.seventhqueen.com/sweetdate/article/changelog

2. The login and signup buttons on your site do work and trigger login or sign up modals. When logged in the login button is replaced with the user profile button which also shows any pending notifications. If you still wish to remove the buttons please add the below CSS to your SweetDate Child theme’s style.css file

3. There is only one profile matching feature in SweetDate which can be found in WP Admin > Theme Options > Profiles Matching. You should configure all of the options here.

4. You can use BuddyPress and/or Paid Memberships Pro as you see fit for your project needs. If you you wish to run a dating site then you will need to use BuddyPress and if you wish members to pay to use the site you will need to use Paid Memberships Pro too.

Not all plugins are in the repository. You can download the plugin directly from the link I provided on the right side of screen.

Go to WP Admin > Plugins > Add New > Upload to add the plugin.

To force profile photos for all you can try BuddyPress Force Profile Photo https://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-force-profile-photo/

To enable during signup only you may wish to try BuddyPress Signup Avatar https://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-signup-avatar/ but please be aware this has not been updated for a while so I cannot guarantee the plugin still works with the current version of BuddyPress.

Finally there is BuddyPress Better Registration which allows you to upload an avatar during the signup process but does change the whole process considerably. See here for more information https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-bp-registration/

Hi Martin,

I have logged in to your site and checked the page. It looks like you have copied and pasted some of the original shortcodes into a text widget and there is an awful lot going on to rectify. Have you customized this page considerably? If not, I would suggest that you delete it and import the magazine demo again to start with a clean copy.

If you have you will need to delete the text widgets and insert the proper KLEO News (etc) elements via the page builder so they can be configured properly.

I have attached screenshots of how it appears on your site and how it appears when imported.

I am not aware of another plugin, away from BP Disable Activation Reloaded, that had this functionality. I also checked the details page for BP Disable Activation Reloaded and found that it has not been updated for four years. It’s highly likely that it will cause major conflicts on your site and could well be exposing you to security issues – I would advise not having it installed on a live site.

The link that you generated in Peter’s Login Redirect will not work in any plugin other than Peter’s Login Redirect. You cannot use this link in another plugin.

I cannot say why Peter’s Login Redirect is not working in the case of first login, you will need to reach out to the plugin developer directly for assistance on this.

With regards to the post registration redirect, this refers specifically to registering with WordPress and where you are sent immediately after pressing register. This specific section will not have any effect on BuddyPress and should not be configured.

Please bear in mind these questions are not related to the theme and would be present regardless of the theme. If you have specific issues with third party plugins you will need to contact those developers directly.

Hi,

I think this may be a caching issue on your end with the test user. When I login to your site via Google Incognito (uncached) I can see the fields displayed in the members directory for the users that have them (see attached screenshot). You should purge your browsers cache completely (except for form data and passwords) by using pressing Ctrl+Shift+Del. Once you have done this, restart the browsers and try to login as the test user.

With regards to the second point, the output that is generated is a single p (see screenshot), therefore you would need to completely alter the output at the PHP level individually and echo your new HTML. Unfortunately it isn’t a simple CSS issue but one of custom development and time.

Hi,

When I check the members directory I see two members with no information in the directory. Both members have no data in their profile so there is nothing to show.

Currently this is the only method for displaying the information. It is possible with custom development from you or your developer to extend this but it is not something we can support you in as it is outside the scope of the support offered.

I did some testing on your site and away from your site and found the above code is working, as well as the code below, on my local and live environment but not on your site. I think you’ve either got custom code or a third party plugin that is interfering with the code running.

You’ll need to test this yourself in a staging environment and disable plugins/custom code until you find what is interacting with it.

Hi Martin,

You seem to have selected many post types that you don’t need. If you just want posts then you should uncheck all the other post types from the query. I think including private post types, and so many of them, is confusing the shortcode.
