Quick update … I have successfully tried the site in a completely new domain as opposed to a subdomain. So apologies but a couple more questions!
i. Any idea why I can’t get the subdomain or original site functioning?
ii. I did move up a hosting band, is it possible as I moved server there was any corruption of the files? If so any ideas which ones I should look at?
iii. If I can successfully recreate the original site, could I copy the files of the new domain and move back to original domain? If so do you have a recommended method? I obviously need to retain all my members and their activity.Any pointers in the right direction would be really appreciated.

COPY CODE@media screen and (max-width: 480px) { .logo img { max-width: 240px; } }
unfortunately this doesn’t work on the site I’m now building from scratch for some reason. Can you help?
investaParticipantThanks Laura, just one more question on my site I have a white search box and the text appears to also type in a white so it works but you cant see what is typed. On my mobile version I have a grey search box and white text. What do I need to do to get them to match up and for the typed text to be visible. Thanks again for the help.
investaParticipantHi Laura, yes I still have my site up online but there is obviously a conflict somewhere. I haven been able to isolate so I was wondering if I could
i. move my current site to a new domain
ii. start again with a clean install
iii. migrate my current members and content back into the clean installinvestaParticipantHi after the updates my logo seems to have slipped down behind the menus. Can you point me in the right direction for a fix please

Tried deactivating all plugins except buddypress. Even deleted buddypress and reinstalled but sadly still no success.
investaParticipantHi Laura, thanks for looking. Under theme options, I changed pop up redirect to stay on same page and that seemed to work! However with the create a group issue, my hosting provider have had a few people look at the issue but can’t find any errors being reported on the server. They even disabled server caches to check if that was the problem. Not sure where to go next.what should my create a group code look like? Maybe I could compare that and check it’s the same.
investaParticipantAny inspiration you may have would be very gratefully received, I have been trying to fix this for 4 days ago. I am getting errors (blank step 2. settings) when attempting to create a new group from the front end. In addition, when members sign in they are not being redirected and no avatar is shown. However if they login the second time the login box says ‘you are already logged in please refresh the page’. This time they get redirected. So far, I have verified that:
1. there are no errors being logged anywhere server side and
2. the issue isn’t related to caching, either server side or via a wordpress plugin.I have also:
1. disabled all plugins except buddypress
2. enabled my kleo main theme, in case I had some conflicted code in my child themeBut I still can’t resolve either of these issues. Does any one have anymore advice they could give me?
investaParticipantthat is meant to read url not irk! The create a group issue is the most urgent to solve but I have taken away all the plugins and just activated the ones for kleo but still no joy. All suggestions gratefully received 🙂
investaParticipantHi Laura, thanks for the help. I gave that a try but sadly no success. It seems like anything with a irk ending .php is getting stuck. Any further ideas?
investaParticipantAs a quick addition. I have disabled all plugins and just reactivated buddypress, bp-profile search, k-elements, revolution slider and wp Bakery but that still didn’t help.
investaParticipantAnother option if it makes things easier …. could we create a row directly under header(no space) with the words ‘Supported by:’ followed by the logos of our supporters?
investaParticipantHi Radu, I’m actually trying to add my sponsors logo directly after our own logp in the main header. So when I am in Theme Options, my own logo is uploaded under general settings. Is it possible to add a second logo to come after that?
investaParticipantCheers, that was the solution ??
investaParticipantI found this code:
<?php echo bp_core_get_username( bp_get_activity_comment_user_id() ); ?>
Does it look like that could be the solution and if so, where would I place the code?
Thanks again for all the help. I’m almost there!
investaParticipantCheers, do I just stick it underneath my existing code? I already have the following code in css to help visibility of my mobile menu:
.header-color .navbar-nav li .caret:after { color: #fff !important;}
I added a similar Question to https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/new-and-hot-in-menu (probably the wrong place to post ?) as code there didn’t change my ‘new’ colour.
investaParticipantHi, no I manually changed it in admin > activity – which does solve the problem retrospectively but obviously not when it is automatically posted into the activity stream
investaParticipantNot sure if I can tag on to an item already marked as resolved or if I should create another topic. So I’ll try here first. I have added the code as suggested above. I also already had the following code in place:
.header-color .navbar-nav li .caret:after { color: #fff !important;}
If I add the new code directly beneath it, my grey background colour doesn’t change. Presumable it should be blue with white writing? So … Have I put the new code in the right place or am I missing a step because I already have some css code (to make my mobile navigation menu visible)?
Thanks

Once you have your cron job and your API key from Twitter, members need to go to settings > social networks, obvious once you realise (although social albums are held under profile, which is a bit of a red herring)!
Hope that helps anyone else who is looking to allow members to automatically post their tweets. Hopefully somebody else will pick up the development.

I can’t find any support. Are you using it. My issue is I have set up cron job but I can’t work out how members tie in their Twitter or LinkedIn accounts or admin for that matter 🙂
investaParticipantYes – I thought that seemed peculiar! I’ve tried deactivating all the plugins it doesn’t seem to be a conflict but I must have done something wrong somewhere. Oh well at least it work ??
investaParticipantNot sure that comment was meant for me. I was enquiring as to whether UNchecking the ‘allow activity stream commenting on blog and forums posts’ was the normal way to get comments appearing? It appears to do the opposite of what it says.
investaParticipantOut of interest is that a default performance or unique to my site?
investaParticipantHi Radu, sorry for the delayed response. I have been driving myself mad trying to resolve this issue:
1. I followed your instructions, even tried deactivating all plugins except buddypress. No success!
2. Tried using the twenty-sixteen theme with and without plugins (except buddypress). No success!
3. Tried removing some functions code I’d got from here to place news ticker in header (although this issue preceded that code) – still no success!
4. Spent hours searching google reading lots on it may be a database error – which would be beyond my ability to fix!
5. Eventually I have been able to get the blog post comments to show up by unticking/unchecking the following in the buddypress settings page:‘Allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts’
Completely counter-intuitive but hopefully this will help someone else. It also solved another of my issues where @[username] mentions weren’t receiving notifications. All very strange but at least it now works 🙂
