OK, I have had another fiddle with different ideas, including testing in a new page, and when I changed the query for the Kleo Post carousel, for PAGES, to entering the actual page names/titles it works! But it didn’t work at all (totally blank) if it was built using the tags options – even in another test page.

So… This has temporarily fixed the issue I have with this particular feature BUT it has not fixed the underlying problem of some new conflict with the Kleo post carousel now not recognising page tags.

I will now re-update everything that i did 12 days ago, before this happened, and will let you know if I find any other conflicts.

@abe – any thoughts? I’ve also tried saving the problem page as a template and testing it in a new page, but the same problem. Also happy for you to log into our site to test for yourself – it remains in MM and the file quarantine setting is OFF in our security plugin so that won’t effect any tests you do.
    Thanks.

I would really appreciate some support on this issue, as I have done as requested, but the Kleo post carousel is NOT displaying when ‘pages’ are selected in the ‘build query’ section – only when it’s posts.

I’ve attached a screenshot of one of the queries that is NOT displaying (= Photo Skills pages) and the front end where it is just a blank.

Please can you get back to me urgently as I have been waiting for a week now for some help to resolve this theme related problem (with my member site having to be kept in MM too because of this issue).

    Thank you.

@abe – have you had a chance to review this problem yet? The page is still broken and our site is in MM.

Another broken page is the individual members’ gallery pages – images not opening in Lightbox & no menu links working (but this is probably related to rtmedia needing to be updated).

Other pages using the VC post grid for pages seem to be working fine, so it just seems to be the Kleo Posts carousel that’s the problem.

Would appreciate your urgent review of this please. Thanks.

    Hi Abe,

Thanks for your quick reply. I did as you recommended, and updated K-elements too, and the contents of the Contact page reappeared.

However on another broken page (Hub Central) although it now allows the drop down menus to work correctly it still only shows 1 of the 3 Kleo Posts Carousels – I’ve attached a screenshot of the fixed contact page and the broken Photohub Central page. Any ideas as to why this might be?

If you want t review it yourself the page ID is #12 (Photohub Central).

    Thanks.

PS: I am trying to restore back to a point when my site was working (ie: before all updates) so can not update to the latest Kleo and VC. Also it was one of the updates that caused the error.

Sorry, didn’t notice the date. And I have actually opened it as a new topic here: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/visual-composer-causing-php-errors-and-blank-pages-help?addticket

    Hi,

I’m having a BIG problem with VC producing php errors and causing a random selection of pages to show up blank – only header showing (see eg as attached). When I deactivate VC the code shows (but obviously no styling) and when I reactivate it goes completely blank again. So my site has been down since Monday (3 days) and I have tried re-uploading my backups and using my hosting providers backups too – still the problem.

This all came about when i needed to restore my home directory and db backup after some updates ‘went south’. So it should have set it back to a functioning site, but some pages are just blank!

    The php error is this:

[24-Mar-2016 01:31:26 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_shortcode_custom_css_has_property() in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/themes/kleo/vc_templates/vc_column_inner.php on line 42

When I look at my plugins/theme info I have restored to Kleo v3.1.3 and VC version is showing as v4.8.1

So I was wondering if the restore backup didn’t totally restore the VC plugin properly? So I have initially 2 questions:

    1. Is this the correct version of Vc for Kleo v 3.13.?
    2. Can you give me a url for accessing previous versions of VC (and Kleo please) so i can re-upload it or upload a different version if needs be?

Many thanks – appreciate any help as I’m totally stuck with a broken site and not idea what to do next! j

    Hi Andrei,

OK sorted out the s2member hiccup, so now taking another look at the final problem for the ajax popup login not working.

Current problem: Kleo login link (for ajax popup login) in menu NOT working when accessed via the Home page BUT is always works fine if accessing the same menu link via the membership or Contact page (ie: any of our other public pages). Although just occasionally it does work! so a bit variable…

I have deactivated our security JTC Hacker input text for all login pages for the last few months and no change.

It definitely works if I log into the site by another route and clear the cache, log out and then retry via the front page = always works. But if I deactivate the cache plugin it still produces variable results, so it doesn’t seem to be the main problem.

I’ve just tested deactivating our security plugin (kept it active but set it to default mode which is used for testing) and I was immediately able to login via the menu link on the Home page. So it may be having some effect, though it’s very weird that it’s only on the Home page.

I really don’t want to leave my security plugin in default mode, so I have set it back to it’s usual settings. So if you could look at this I’d really appreciate it.

The security plugin I use is BulletProof Security Pro and it’s an amazing plugin with incredibly good support from it’s author for both the free and the pro version. The support site is here: http://forum.ait-pro.com/ and the wordpress one is here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bulletproof-security/.

Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to test.

    Many thanks j

@ maarten – OK, I’m obviously doing something totally wrong – I’d really appreciate it if you could clarify exactly where in the copied tabs.php the above code went? (I have updated the tab.php in my child theme to match the latest woo update.)

I’ve tried it in all sorts of different combinations/places but don’t get the required result.

    Much appreciated.

    Hi Andrei,

Thanks for getting back to me. It’s still happening occasionally, under the same circumstances as I mentioned before – very weird!

At present I’m sorting out an odd issue with the install of s2member pro. Once this is fixed I will deactivate the security plugin (Bullet Proof Security Pro – info and brilliant forum for it here: http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/forum/bulletproof-security-pro/) and re-test for a week or so and will update you then.
    Cheers,
    j

PS> for anyone else looking for this in the meantime, I have retested and adding the following into your child theme functions.php works perfectly from all logout options (BPress, Kleo, s2member, wp):
    add_action('wp_logout',create_function('','wp_redirect(home_url());exit();'));
    Cheers.

    Hi again,

    Re: the updates in Buddypress:

    “Registering member types
BuddyPress itself does not register any member types. Plugins and themes can register member types using the bp_register_member_type() or the bp_register_member_types() function:…”

    found here @ https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/member-types/

… Is this feature now enabled in Kleo, for Buddypress as well as for bbpress?

    Thanks,

    Hi Andrei,

Ok, well generally the ajax pop-up login works – though it does have its ‘moments’ of not working, with just the endlessly spinning wheel thingy. And this ONLY ever seems to happen on our front page login link (Kleo login link in the menu) but always OK now from the other 2 public pages (using the SAME Kleo login link in the menu) – very weird! So I am keeping an eye on it, as it is only occasionally that it happens now, and have asked for feedback from members too. Will keep you updated…

But one thing that is still different is that if I log in as an admin, it shows the green text ‘Login successful. redirecting…’; but if I login as a member it never shows this (from any page), just the same original text until it redirects to my login welcome page – I’ve attached screenshots FYI.

Is this as it should be, or not?

    Cheers,

    Jenny

OK, something odd is happening, to do with viewing the site on different browsers:
    1. When I use Firefox on my pc, with or without the WP admin bar enabled, it never shows the additional top menu bar – which is why I didn’t see the social share buttons in the header I guess.
    2. again using Firefox on my pc, it DOESN’T show the section at the end of the blog with the line of social share buttons.
    3. using Firefox on my pc, it doesn’t show the text input fields for fb, youtube or twitter
    4. using G Chrome on my pc, with or without the WP admin bar enabled, it shows both the top menu bar with the social share buttons in AND the extra section with them all in at the bottom of the blog
    5. using G Chrome on my pc, it does show the text input fields for fb, youtube or twitter
    6. using Firefox on my mobile it DOES show both the top menu bar with the social links in and at the end of the blog – AND it does show the text input fields for fb, youtube or twitter.

So I guess that’s about my firefox settings on my pc! I’ll post an update if I find out how to fix this – or would appreciate any advice too…

Ah Ha! I’ve just got notification of an update for Zen Cache (Lite & pro) for a bug fix related to having more than 1 istance of declaring wp_cache in wp-congig.php. This is their github ticket for this issue FYI: https://github.com/websharks/zencache/issues/509

So I’ll update ZenCache soon and will let you know if it’s had any impact on this login problem or not…

    Hi again Andrei,

OK, the popup login is now NOT working; so I disabled the JTC Hacker CAPTCHA as you requested (which is ONLY on my wp-login.php) and it made no difference… still endless spinning and not logging in (as screenshot attached). I will leave it off until you’ve looked at the site again.

Also I won’t clear the cache this time in the backend, so you can look at the problem for yourself. Can you check it out soonish? (same login details as before).

Many thanks – will be interested to see what you think is the issue. j

    Hi Andrei,

I think it’s unlikely to be the CAPTCHA, as even when we had the conflict with the s2member issue (see original thread: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/log-in-not-redirecting-to-page ) it let me login as usual as an admin, but did that funny “You are already logged in. Please refresh page” behaviour for a member login – and I’ve had the CAPTCHA (by BulletProof Security) on the wp-login.php page the same throughout.

Also the Ajax popup login now sometimes works properly (since updating to Kleo 3.0.9) and sometimes not – yet was fixed one time by clearing the cache from within the backend.

At present the popup is working again OK… so when it next fails, I’ll deactivate the CAPTCHA and retry and will post back here.

    Cheers, J

    Thanks Andrei,

I checked it again today and it was the same for admin and user login from front-end (OK from wp-login.php). I then logged in via wp-login page and cleared the cache, logged out and retried… And all good for both admin and user, so it must ne a caching thing.

I use ZenCache and have now changed the settings for the front page (but it will still be cached, just auto-refreshed if updated) and have user-specific cache for my members.

I will setup an admin account for you and send in private reply below, though it might be hard to reproduce if it’s a caching issue?

    Thanks.

I’ve been following this thread, as I have the same issue… upgraded to Kleo 3.0.9 and thought it was fixed but seems it isn’t as lots of our members are having problems, and now so am I. Problem is the same ” The “Loading…” text and spinner just keep spinning” and it never logs you in, even when I caler my browser’s cache.

Anyone else still having this problem?

Thanks Radu – most of the answers there, and those i’m found before are related to adding it to their profiles, rather than as a ‘label’ in the forum threads.

I think this is a bit beyond me at present – but i have added it in as a feature request for a future update of Kleo, as i think it’d be quite popular addition. If anyone else is looking for a solution to this, perhaps they can go here: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/add-in-admin-or-moderator-labels-to-buddypress and add their vote!

Thanks Abe, I know it seems a pain for something so small, but we find that lot of our members have problems logging in using the standard wp-login page as we have a CAPTCHA code on it, and it’s easy to mistype when using smaller devices. (I have the link to the wp-login page as the main login menu link to currently avoid the issue of the non-redirect issue.)

Fingers crossed you can find a solution! Cheers.

But as a suggestion, maybe useful to have a link to previous versions in the download area of the Envato site? Then they’re accessible for anyone if they need to revert to/test with the last version they knew to be working – might save you guys time in the long run?
