Hi,
To test this I will need your permission to disable plugins and switch themes, is this okay? If it is not then please provide staging access too.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have updated your version of WP Bakery from 4.5.7 to 5.5.5, please can you test registration again to see if it is working.
If it doesn’t you will have to contact the restrict content pro developers as the issue is a compatibility issue in their plugin. WP Bakery is used by millions of websites so they should not have any issues with this plugin.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
Sorry to hear you’re having issues importing one of our demo pages. There is no slider on the Get Connected demo so it will not import any for you. The head of the page contains a background image, mountains at night, we cannot include this in the demo due to copyright issues. You assign your own background image by clicking the pencil icon for the first row, and then selecting the ‘Text & Background’ tab.
With regards to the other issue please go to WP Admin > Users > Profile Search and open and save each form, even if there are no changes. If this does not work please update this ticket, in a private reply, with admin credentials for your site so I can check this out.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi Arindam,
To confirm, as it is important, you disabled the caching before deleting your browser cache and kept it disabled for the test?
If this is correct and the issue persists then please update this ticket, in a private reply, with admin credentials for your site so I can look into it further.

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
There are plugins out there that will change a username, but this is a per user basis and wouldn’t be a viable option for hundreds of users, let alone thousands.
You’re correct in the method to resolve the issue going forward, however, a solution to the current issue is going to be difficult. BuddyPress stores activity data in such a way that previous content is not going to be linked to the new username. This will mean you have content that will appear to be orphaned, it should link to the correct profile, but it will still show the users old username (email address) for the content of the activity.
I can’t really think of any easy way to resolve this for you so I am going to refer this ticket to one of our developers for a review. Given your question is complex it may be a few days before you hear back from us as some research may need to be carried out.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
You can use the below CSS to override the style for blockquotes. Add this to WP Admin > Appearance > Editor > KLEO Child > Style.css or via WP Admin > Theme Options > General Settings > Scroll to: ‘Quick CSS’
COPY CODEblockquote { background-color: black; color: white; border-left: solid 5px red !important; }
Adjust the values to suit your needs, save, and clear any WordPress cache, server cache and CDN then purge your browsers cache (Ctrl+F5) to see changes.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi Natcha,
The username and password you have provided do not seem to work, I get the below error when trying to login.
ERROR: The password you entered for the username admin is incorrect. Lost your password?
There is a known issue that we’re looking into when importing profile fields, where it is falsely reporting a failure to import.
Please can you go to WP Admin > Users > Profile Fields and check to see if you have profile fields groups and profile fields other than name. If you do, then they all imported successfully and you can safely ignore this false negative.
Thanks,
Kieran

I’ll respond in the same numbered format for ease of tracking.
1. The register form is automatically output by BuddyPress and styled by BuddyApp. If you would like to override any of those styles you’ll need to right click the element, inspect, and generate your classes for targeting your desired element. Once you have done this and added your desired CSS you can paste it into your BuddyApp Child theme’s style.css with the class .register before any other classes. This will mean that any CSS you have generated will target only the register page.
2. To do this you will need to translate your site, for your own language, using Loco Translate. Once installed translate the BuddyPress plugin by search for the strings you wish to change. For more information on translating the theme see this support article https://archived.seventhqueen.com/general/article/how-to-translate-or-change-words-from-any-theme-plugin
3. You should do this via the method stated in step 2
4. Please could you give me more information on controlling notifications, I do not understand the question. Currently notifications cannot be added to any other part of the theme away from the header.
5. You should do this via the method stated in step 2, except, you should translate the BuddyDrive plugin for this text and not BuddyPress.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have attached a screenshot of how your menu looks to me when I visit your site without any cached files. Please can you confirm if this is what you see or not?
If this is what you see and they’re not the settings you wish to have then the issue is likely caching. Purge any WordPress cache, server cache and CDN and then purge your browser cache when viewing your home page by pressing Ctrl+F5.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi Matt,
I just checked the issue and found that is not restricted to the register page. Any page that has a slug has the issue for example contact, activate etc.
I switched the theme in use temporarily to Twenty Sixteen and the issue continues so it’s not a BuddyApp related issue.
Please can you try disabling all plugins, save your permalinks again and then test the pages register, activate and contact to see if the issue persists.
If it doesn’t then enable the plugins again, one by one, until you identify the plugin the causing the issue.
If it does then this is not a WordPress issue but one of either htaccess or host – you would need to reach out to Amazon to discuss this issue if it were the case.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
Try adding !important to each part of the CSS like so
COPY CODE.tabs.pill.custom dd:not(.active) a { background-color: #6997bf !important; color: white !important; }
Replace the current CSS with the above and clear caches to see changes.

Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
You need to enable the target element in screen options to open a menu item in a new window. Go to WP Admin > Appearance > Menus and open the panel at the very top right of the page titled ‘Screen Options’, check the option ‘Link Target’.
There is no need to save or refresh for this to work, open up any item you have already added to the menu and check ‘Open link in a new tab’ for desired links.
Thanks,
Kieran

That’s strange that it worked out of the blue. The message above is a warning that can be safely ignored, it’s only displaying currently because of the code that was added to the wp-config file.
If the theme is now working for you as expected you can safely remove the code from above and the warning message will disappear.

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
The option you mentioned previously is for showing the bar to logged out users. The option within singular profiles is a granular option for small sites, it wouldn’t be feasible to manage this for each user, therefore we include an option to remove the bar completely for logged in users.
Go to WP Admin > Theme Options > Miscellaneous > Toggle: ‘Admin toolbar’ to off.
Save, and the bar should be gone from the front end. You may need to purge your caches.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
Can you send me your WordPress error logs in a .txt file so I can look into this for you please.
If you’re not already generating an error log follow the below general steps
- Connect to your server by FTP
- Look in root directory of your WordPress install and open wp-config.php
- Search for define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false ); and change FALSE value to TRUE
COPY CODEdefine( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
- After this line add this:
COPY CODEdefine( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
WP_DEBUG_LOG is a companion to WP_DEBUG that causes all errors to also be saved to a debug.log log file inside the /wp-content/ directory. This is useful if you want to review all notices later or need to view notices generated off-screen (e.g. during an AJAX request or wp-cron run).
Repeat the described actions and then check the debug.log file and let me know what error appears.
If this is useless please try to deactivate additional plugins except Visual Composer, K-elements, BuddyPress, Paid memberships pro and revolution slider.
After you have disabled the plugins try to see if the error persists.
Cheers

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I think you mean margin-top, if so it would be like so
COPY CODE<div style="margin-top:20px;padding:20px;color:white;border:solid 2px white;"> <p> Denna sida drivs helt utan vinst. Medlemsavgifterna går oavkortat till marknadsföring samt till avgifter för sidans drift. </p> </div>
For font-size simple enter font-size:20px; into the style tag in my above example and change to suit your needs. If you wish to use H6 instead of p then change p to H6 for both.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I’m not entirely sure what you’re referring to, so if I have this wrong, please send more details so I can assist you better.
You can set the color and background color for the inactive tabs on a users profile with the below CSS
COPY CODE.tabs.pill.custom dd:not(.active) a { background-color: #6997bf; color: white; }
There are no classes on a per tab basis so setting a different color for each will not be possible.
Thanks,
Kieran

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
The option you should use is BuddyPress Legacy, you should not use the BuddyPress Nouveau option.
The toolbar refers to the WordPress toolbar, the black bar that runs across the top of the site, with links to the backend and WordPress. I would recommend not showing the toolbar to users for a more seamless and professional experience.
Thanks,
Kieran

October 28, 2018 at 13:24 in reply to: Profile Picture and Activity/Profile/Notifications/Messages/Friends/Groups/Forums/Media/Settings change size #212316Kieran_SQModeratorHi Hannah,
Do you mean the profile picture on the singular member page? If so please use the below custom CSS in your KLEO Child themes style.css via WP Admin > Appearance > Editor > KLEO Child > Style.css or via WP Admin > Theme Options > General Settings > Scroll to: ‘Quick CSS’.
COPY CODE.buddypress div#item-header img.avatar { width: 100px; }
Change the 100px value to suit your needs.

Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
You should unset the background for the whole site and then go to WP Admin > Pages and edit your home page with Elementor. Once the Elementor editor has loaded click the cog icon (settings) in the bottom left of the page. This will switch the left bar content to settings, you’ll see it has two tabs – one is ‘Settings’ and the other ‘Style’, select ‘Style’.
Now you’ll see a heading for an option titled ‘Background Type’, select the paintbrush icon (Classic), select a colour to use if the background image fails to load and then click the plus icon (+) for the field titled image. Select your media and set any settings desired for position, attachment, repeat and size.
Save your change and your whole page background will now be set. Clear your WordPress caching, server caching, any CDN and your browsers cache (Ctrl+F5) to see the changes.
I have attached a screenshot to visualize this for you.
Thanks,
Kieran.

Thanks for reaching out about the signup process. Currently there is no integration that makes the BuddyPress / Paid Memberships Pro signup process one page. As it stands it will always be a two page process. If you need a single page process you would have to hire a developer to achieve this for you as it would take a considerable amount of time to code this.
Thanks,
