Thanks for being our customer.Hi there, some pages like the Members page that is used in BuddyPress override the default wordpress logic and the actual page is not used to display the content, as you can see in the members page you have Buddypress generated content.

Footer is made from widgets so you can add a text widget with your add in any widget column from the four ones.To add something before the media on single post view you need to edit some templates from the theme, the ones that start with content like content.php

Unfortunately that isn’t an option in the theme even you popup the modal for not-logged in users they would still see the content since that is not a good restriction option. You should find a restriction plugin, apply some desired restrictions and afterwards they should be redirected to the register page.

Also the theme is installed from Apperance – Themes and it has nothing to do with plugin install.If that still does not work then use the FTP method as you see in the documentation.
