Yes @riccardo-rossini, please let’s keep the discussion in just one topic per issue.
Your issues seems to happen because of some sort of javascript issues, when javascript errors happen, often they break your entire page or site, I recommend you as well as Laura did, please deactivate your plugins one by one until you find the one that might produce errors.

If somehow the custom post type registered by an plugin doesn’t appear in the settings of the search form, then you will have to switch to the classic content editor under the “Text” tab, and manually find and edit the search form shortcode by adding your own post types into it ( if you already made some search context selections under it’s settings the you’ll see them there, and just continue adding your own ).

This happens because not all plugins register it’s post type in a manner so that Visual Composer can read them.

Well, categories taxonomy for other post types might not the same as the one for the “Posts” post type, so that’s why you won’t find them listed in there. Unfortunately this won’t be possible without some custom modifications.

It totally depends on how you format the content of a portfolio page, I recommend you to enable visual composer for editing portfolio pages ( from visual composer settings ), and then you’ll have more control over it. By default, yes, images entered in the content links to their attachment page, but I assume this can be easily changed if you use visual composer and enter your image as an element.

Please double check if that particular user set up his name, if he did and it still shows the username then the job to change the way those usernames are displayed will be a pretty custom task, because that’s the way the buddypress plugin works by default.

Unfortunately I’m not aware of any easy trick to change them all at once.

We don’t need to create a separate plugin as a compatibility addon, we have it already bundled in the theme.
I’ve put this issues to our bug list and they will be addressed as soon as possible.

Please check the settings of the search form element in the page edit, you should have option to set regarding search context.

The blog listing is using several files, if you want to learn how to modify wordpress themes I recommend you to watch a few video tutorials to better understand how the wordpress templating system works.

Also, the category can appear in your breadcrumb but just if you set your permalinks to contain the category slug in it’s composition.

This issue is because buddypress pagination will link to the default page, and that’s because it wasn’t been built to support want you want to achieve. Also the search form probably points to the default page as well, that’s why it doesn’t stay on your custom page.

If you want to continue with your idea you’ll have to create your own custom pagination and search form to keep you in your custom members directory page.

I recommend you to still use the socked area for what you need, maybe change it’s color to be the same as your footer and that’s it.

In socket section you have 4 widget areas, where you can create nav menus and add them in a Menus widget.

Around line 40, you will find a php line commented with double slashes, remove the slashes, save the files and you have the bottom pagination back.

You can copy this files in your child theme under the same directory structure so that the modifications will be safe when you’ll update your theme.

Hi @msattolo, from what I can understand you can’t find the places post type listed in the Post Grid settings content source, that’s because of a small incompatibility between visual composer and geo directory, you can set your post grid only for posts, and then switch to the classic page editor and find where the post is defined in the post grid shortcode, and add your own post type there, manually.

Unfortunately there is no option to control on which elements you have the lightbox feature enabled, at least no without some core changes to the theme.

Also regarding your screenshots, the first is magnific popup, what we use by default in our theme, meanwhile the second gallery might probably been created with a third party gallery plugin which might load it’s own lightbox script ( prettyPhoto in the second screenshot ).

This doesn’t come from our theme, they are elements which come from buddypress plugins by default and that’s their default behavior, of using your username instead of display name in some places.

There used to be an plugin which let you manage from what is composed your display name, try it, maybe helps you:
